"Discipline is the continual exercise of the will, enlightened by the intellect, so that it may act easily and habitually according to the right order and help to attain self-mastery".
- Student must carry his/her the school almanac to school everyday. It must have his/her photograph and identification information complete and signed by parents.
- Remarks made in the school almanac should be counter-signed by the parents/guardians only.
- Students should get their progress report cards signed and returned the same or the next day of issue. A fine of Rs. 50/- will be levied in case of any damage or loss of the progress report card.
- Identity cards are for the security of the students and hence should be maintained by the student for the full session. Students are expected to carry their I-Card every day to school. No student shall be allowed to enter the school premises without the I-Card, once it has been issued. In case the I-Card is lost by the student, it shall be mandatory to get a new I-Card issued at an extra charge.
- An emergency announcement system has been set up in the school for immediate information and action in case of contingency.
- All students are expected to come to school in proper school uniform. Casuals are not allowed. Students should always be clean and neatly dressed. They should wear the School Uniform on all class days and for School functions. It is necessary that all students attend school in their complete uniform. Defaulters will not be given permission to enter class.
- Students are allowed to wear coloured dresses on their Birth days and Feast days(as announced) but the dresses worn must be modest.
Make a conscious and deliberate effort in adhering to the following points: (up to 14)
- Students should always wear neat and well ironed uniform. Students must have a clean handkerchief. No low waist (skirts / trousers) are permitted. The cut of the trousers should be straight. Fancy trousers like flares or bell bottoms or drain pipes etc. are not permitted. Skirt should be Knee-length for girls. Shirts should be properly tucked in. Special badges given by the school must be worn daily.
- Well polished shoes which are also in good condition and clean socks. These shoes should not have buckles, platform soles, or any ornamentation. No shoes of any other colour or kind nor sandals or any other forms of high-heeled shoes are permissible.
- Spotless house uniform and P.T. shoes on Wednesdays.
- Well trimmed and combed hair for boys. Boys are not permitted to dye their hair or have exaggerated hairstyles. No spikes / streaks are permitted.
- Hair tied neatly with red(white on Wednesdays) ribbon or hair-band/clips depending on the length of hair for girls.(fancy and other coloured ribbon or hair-band/clips are not permitted)
- Wearing of Watches, Bindi, ornaments, fancy clips is prohibited. Nails must be short (trimmed) and clean. Use of nail enamel & mehndi is prohibited. Only simple & small pair of earrings or studs may be worn. Students and parents will be responsible for any loss. Students are not to wear any jewellery to school (e.g. chains, rings, bangles, bracelets, etc.). No student may have tattoos on his body.
- It is compulsory for every student to bring Water Bottle (size should be adequate and according to need) and Tiffin (should be fill with healthy food) daily. Tiffin has to be non oily. No biscuits of wafers.
- Students are accountable to the school authorities for their behaviour both in school and out of school, particularly when they are in their school uniform.
- If a student is found outside the school premises during working hours without the written permission of the school authorities, the Principal will be forced to take strict disciplinary action which, if deemed fit by the management, may lead to expulsion.
Order and Silence :
- The school expects every student to maintain excellence in standards.
- Students should speak English as it is the medium of instruction of the school and in order to acquire a good command of the language. Defaulters will be fined or punished.
- At the first bell all the students must fall in line for the Assembly. Silence must be maintained when the assembly is in progress.
- Special care must be taken by teachers and pupils to maintain an atmosphere of silence and serious work during class hours. Students must show restraint in their behaviour. Talking loudly in corridors, class rooms, assembly grounds or other places in the school is not permitted. Occupy your mind in reading, solving puzzles, completing assignments, when you are free.
- Both monitors are responsible for maintaining discipline in the class till teacher arrives, during the switch over of classes by teachers(girl and boy).They must be obeyed.
- Running and shouting inside the school building is unbecoming and forbidden.
- Order must be the hallmark of the school. Please queue up while moving from one class to another or when waiting for your turn for anything.
- Student will not be called to answer phone calls in the school office during school hours.
- No student may leave a class without the permission of the teacher concerned.
- The Principal may penalise a child who is constantly out of class.
- No student is permitted to enter the staffroom, School laboratories, of school buildings, school office and sister's houses without (the presence) and permission of the teacher.
- No body may enter another class without the permission of the teacher of the teaching period of the class he wishes to enter.
- Students who stay away from Physical and Health Education/Games /P.T., Art & Craft Education (visual and performing), Work Experience and Library classes will be dealt with severely.
- The class will be dismissed only after the prayer, after which a last double bell will be sounded.
- Cleanliness is a prerequisite of order and therefore, is must. A standard of excellence is what we should attempt to maintain.
- Students may decorate their class rooms as notified by the school from time to time.
- No collection whatsoever may be made in the school for any purpose without the permission of the Principal.
- It is expected that the students be treated with love and affection by the other students while the juniors show respect to their seniors.
- No student may ask a other student to do personal chores and errands for him or ask him for the use of his personal items.
- Every student should have his/her own text books, stationary and other material required for studies.
- No student may organize a social boycott of other students.
- The school will take action against those who verbally abuse a person based on his caste, religion, mother tongue, region, culture, nationality, social and economic status, or physical or mental disability.
- Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is not allowed.
- Social and community service is compulsory for all students as mandated by the school from time to time.
- It is forbidden to have firearms, fireworks, knives, rings, knuckle dusters, and any blunt or sharp instruments or any other weapons. No student may tamper with fire-fighting equipment.
- No student is permitted to keep or consume alcohol, drugs, other intoxicants, psychotropic substances and tobacco.
- The students are not permitted to carry or use Mobile phones, Personal laptops, Toys, CDs, USB, Cameras and I- Pods in school. No books (other than text books and library books), magazines, comics or news papers can be brought to the school without the Principal's permission. In case, the student is found carrying any of these valuables they will be confiscated and not returned.
- School has taken up the policy of 'No plastic' as the contribution to the Biodiversity. Students are penalized if they are caught using plastic in school.
- The school reserves the right to conduct searches of rooms, clothing, bag or any other personal effects of student.
- For birthday celebrations, students are allowed to bring only standard quality of toffees. No other kind of preparations/sweets or drinks are allowed. Exchange of gifts is not allowed.
- Discipline will count in the school awards. The school may withdraw awards and captaincies and may remove a name from the Honour records, if a boy misbehaves.
- The observance of rules of discipline of the school and good behaviour is an essential condition to a student's continuance in the school. In case a student violates the school rules or indulges in any form of indiscipline, non corporal punishment will be given.
Care of property :
- Pupils must take special care of school property. No student should damage any school interior, furniture, apparatus, plants and everything within the school premises; scratch, write or draw anything on walls, furniture or in any way damage things that belong to others, because they must learn to respect what does not belong to them. Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the class teacher or the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it. The decision of the Principal in this matter shall be final.
- Pupils must take care of their personal property. If something lost is reported in time and recovered, it will be returned to the student. All clothes, water bottles and Tiffin boxes must be clearly marked with the student's name, class and section.
Library :
- Complete silence should be maintained inside and in the vicinity of the library.
- Only notebooks, paper and a pencil or a pen may be brought inside the library along with the library books due for return. Personal books cannot be brought to the library.
- Students are welcome to use the library for reference work during school hours(in other periods) if they come with written permission from the Principal.
- Library books, magazines and furniture are the property of the school and must not be marked, damaged or taken out of the library without permission.
- One library card is issued per student. A new book will not be issued till the card held by the student is returned.
- The library cards are non-transferable.
- Students should return their library cards at the end of the academic year.
- The library card of a Student will be cancelled if she/he is found lending it.
- Books are issued and returned only during library periods.
- Students may borrow one book at a time on their library cards. Students of Classes IX and X may borrow two books at a time.
- Books are issued for a week at a time.
- They must be returned on the due date. Only books for which there is no immediate demand will be reissued.
- A fine of Re. 5 per day for the student is charged for overdue books.
- Students are responsible for the books borrowed on their cards. Any damage to the books should be pointed out the time of borrowing and the signature of the librarian obtained. The loss of books or the discovery of any damage to them will have to be compensated for by the students.
- There is a penalty for scribbling in a library book.
- If a book is lost, it has to be replaced by a new one or its market price has to be paid.
Laboratories
- Entrance to the laboratory is restricted to the period given for practical, or with the consent of the Teacher and the permission of the Principal provided that the lab assistant is present.
- Any damage done in the lab must be made good by the student, and if the student is not identified, by the class that used the lab.
- Every precaution and safely suggestion made by the teacher/ lab assistant must be followed.
I.T. POLICY
- Always be yourself and do not pretend to be anyone or anything you are not on the Internet / Intranet.
- Always log off your sessions when you are finished with your work, save your work on your account on the school computer and shut down properly.
- Always follow the instructions received from the person-in-charge at all facilities and adhere to the timings.
- Don'ts (Up to 77)
- Do not download software from the internet or from a floppy disk, zip disk or CD-ROM, on any school computer or run multiple sessions.
- Do not play games on school machines.
- Do not make efforts to get in to unauthorized domains, sites or computer systems.
Sports
- The goal should be the mastery of one's muscles, nerves, and temper in the performance of a difficult game.
- The focus should therefore be on helping each student reflect his individual interests and abilities.
- All students are expected to participate in sports on a regular basis as mandated by the school. Medical excuses for physical education and sports, required to be supported by a Medical Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner, on a form obtainable from the school office.
- The school will not tolerate dangerous play or unsporting behavior. Always follow the instructions received from the person-in-charge at all facilities, rules of safety and self discipline.
Courtesy and Etiquette :
- In all their dealings with others, the students must be guided by considerations of courtesy, respect, sympathy, and care.
- The students must always greet their teachers, elders and friends in a pleasant and low tone of voice wherever they meet them, in the school or outside.
- They must be polite in speaking to one another, avoiding the use of slang, loud talk and common expression, which ill befit a young one.
- They must strive to be obedient to their parents and teachers, giving them always the respect and affection that is their due. They must also accept their guidance and correction with gratitude.
In their dealings with teachers and with other adults, students are expected to be guided by the following (up to 99) courtesies and points of etiquette:
- To address them as "Sir" and "Ma'am", as the case may be.
- To stand up in the presence of teacher/s, except in the classroom.
- To sit only when asked to sit down.
- To remove their hands from their pockets in the presence of teacher/s and visitor/s and during formal occasions including assembly.
- To wish them in the course of the day or as they pass, in a dignified manner.
- To stand aside to let teacher/s and visitor/s pass.
- To open doors for adults and let them go first.
- To converse and behave, in the presence of teacher/s and visitor/s, in a becoming way.
- To greet teacher/s and visitor/s.
- To offer to help any visitor who seems to require it.
- To be polite to all non-teaching staff.
- To raise one's hands in class for permission to speak.
- To ask permission to leave or enter a classroom.
- To stand in silence in the class/ hall until the prayer has been recited.
Duties of a student :
Students Must...
- Enter the classroom and take one's place immediately after the bell rings.
- Remember to stand up when a teacher, the Principal or a visitor enters or leaves the room.
- Carry notebooks and assignments as per the timetable.
- Note down your difficulties and be ready for the lesson before the teacher arrives.
- During the lesson, enter or leave the classroom or communicate with classmates, only when it is urgent at that point of time and that too, with the teacher's permission.
- Sit upright during the lesson. It helps to concentrate on the lesson. Do not lean on the elbows or slouch.
- Be accurate in taking down notes, assignments for home work and schedules for the next lessons.
- Fall in a line when moving out of a class.
- Return to class from PT/Library/Labs and other outdoor periods on time.
- Study regularly. Read what has been taught in class on a daily basis.
- Complete the school work and assignments on time.
- Attempt home work unaided and keep parents well-informed about the school assignments.
- Be responsible for any work missed in class due to absence.
- Obey the instruction of the Principal and teachers of the School as well as of one's parents and seniors.
- Talk softly while others are studying.
- Use decent language.
- Be true to friends, teachers and to him/ her.
- Protect School property, personal belongings and belongings of others.
- Inculcate the habit of keeping your I-Card, Library Card, The School Almanac and Progress Report Card carefully and produce them whenever required.
- Maintain order and cleanliness at home and in the classroom. Use the dustbin.
- Keep one's place in the classroom and surroundings neat and tidy.
- Use a tissue or a handkerchief or cover mouth while coughing, yawning or sneezing.
- Switch off lights and fans when not in use.
- Greet those who clean your classroom, mend your furniture, ring the bell etc.
- Use the wash room cleanly.
- Help a junior board or alight from the bus. Help him or her get a seat in the bus.
- Help the old, the weak, the sick, and small children.
- Be pro-active. Jump into the middle of things by accepting responsibilities. Take charge of programmes, offer help and support to teachers.
- Uphold the principles of dignity and character.
- Acquire knowledge persistently in order to become an educated and cultured citizen.
- Cherish the honour of the nation, school, family and one's own and defend it by one's deeds, work and training.
- Desist from the use of coarse expressions and all such activities which may affect self- honour.
- Respect the liberties and rights of others.
- Judge others not by their looks but by their work, manners, principles and helpful nature.
- Stand for causes such as reduction of emissions and conservation of resources.
- Go green by carrying cloth bags. Restrict the use of plastics.
Students Must Not...
- Have rowdy and rude behaviour.
- Bully others.
- Get involved in any form of gambling.
- Burst crackers, throw colours on one other or paint faces within the school premises.
- Get involved in arguments and fights (verbal or physical).
- Cheat or be unfair at play.
- Shouting and whistling in the school building.
- Play or run in the class.
- Play, Roam or Run in the corridors.
- be late in reporting to classes.
- be late in submission of work.
- Let any one copy his/her project, answer sheet or home assignment.
- Bunk Classes.
- Eat or drink during teaching periods.
- Carry or wear accessories to school (coloured mufflers, warmers, goggles, watches etc.)
- Litter/Spit in or near the school building.
- Be litter school premises with disposable tumblers, papers or polythene bags.
- Defacing walls or graffiti.
- Scribble on desks, walls or doors.
- Spoil or pluck flowers.
